Breaking! Kidnapped Anambra lawmaker found dead

A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon Justice Azuka who was kidnapped by gunmen on his way home during the yuletide season iin Onitsha has been found dead.

Before his bidy was found, here have been calls by individuals,  his colleagues and state government for his release, but all that fell on deaf ears.

Announcing his death in a statement on Thursday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said that his lifeless body was found around second Niger bridge.

The statement partly read, “In the early hours of today (Thursday), 6/2/2025 at the second niger bridge, the Joint Security team comprising of Police and AVG Operatives on a mission to rescue abducted Hon. Azuka, Honourable State House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North, regrettably found his lifeless body at the scene.”

According to him, details are still sketchy, but will make it available to journalists as it unfolds

Ikenga added that joint security team have taken over the scene and operation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects involved.
