Tinubu to hold stakeholders meeting in Anambra as state takes more beautiful shape

With barely 2 days to the state visit of Nigeria's President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Anambra State on May 8, 2025, it has been confirmed by the state government that the President would be holding a high-level Town Hall Meeting with key stakeholders in the state.
The Town Hall Meeting scheduled to take place at the newly reconstructed Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square is expected to bring together a broad spectrum of Anambra’s leadership, which include, industry moguls, traditional rulers, market union representatives, and the leadership of all the 179 communities across the state.
To this regard, the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has improved on the beautification and infrastructural enhancements along the Three Arms Zone Boulevard, leading directly to the new Anambra Government House and the Ekwueme Square.
According to the Managing Director of ACTDA, Dr. Ossy Onuko who spoke during a cite inspection said that the agency is working diligently to ensure a seamless and dignified welcome for the President.
He said: “As you can see, we are currently dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. Our aim is to guarantee a clean, smooth, and hitch-free reception for His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
“Awka is fully prepared to receive the President. We’ve put mechanisms in place to control vehicular movement and enhance security during the visit.
"Due to security protocols, there will be restricted access to the boulevard leading to the Town Hall Meeting venue.
“We have designated alternative parking areas for attendees, including the Anambra Broadcasting Service compound, the Kenneth Dike Library premises, the Teachers’ House, the Anambra Universal Basic Education Board compound, and other nearby facilities to ensure smooth traffic flow."
Onuko harped on the transformation of Awka under Governor Soludo’s leadership, noting that the city of Awka is finally taking shape as a true state capital.
He added, "Just two or three years ago, one could hardly describe Awka as a capital city, as it lacked the core infrastructure and civic design essential for such a status. Today, however, the narrative has changed significantly.
“This transformation is the result of the strategic vision and relentless efforts of Governor Charles Soludo. He has redefined Awka, lifting it from obscurity and equipping it with the infrastructure and character befitting a capital city.
“The people of Awka are deeply grateful. We now have the manpower and systems in place to maintain public infrastructure and ensure their sustainability for future generations."
