Soludo says Sept 28 sacrosanct for LG election, insists, Ezeokenwa is APGA's national chairman

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has declared that the September 28 date for Local Government elections in the state is sacrosanct.




He made the declaration during an interactive meeting with candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),  local government chairmen, party chairmen, state Workng Committee members and  State the State Executive Council members at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka on Monday 

Soludo who is the National Leader of APGA, hailed the party hierarchy’s hard work, even as he urged ndị Anambra to participate in the election.

While notng that movement would be restricted on election day, the Governor  praised the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) and State House of Assembly members for prioritizing ndị Anambra’s interests. Governor Soludo encouraged candidates to showcase their plans for the state’s development.

The governor further harped on APGA’s unity, stressing that Bar. Sly Ezeokenwa remains the National Chairman of the party.

He also expressed confidence that the lawful resolution would be implemented soon.

Earlier on his speech, the State APGA Chairman Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye attributed the party’s growth to Governor Soludo’s leadership and predicted APGA’s victory in the election.

Dignitaries present at the meeting include, thr Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, and Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, among others.
